María Barros presents the delicate and mysterious woman

06_02_10Yesterday, at Cibeles Fashion Week María Barros presented her “Maiólica” collection inspired by the world of French and English porcelain dolls from the 1930s and given designer’s contemporary touch.

The models walked down the catwalk in a chessboard of black and white, colours which totally dominate the collection (just like the labels of Paco & Lola), with the exception of some finishing strokes of vibrant red. The Autumn/Winter 2010 collection puts forward a woman who is feminine and delicate, almost dangerous, inspired by the Victorian age.

Created in silk, tulle, organza and cotton, the clothes reveal sinuous and pleated textures that are characteristic of her style.

Paco & Lola accompanied María backstage before and after the show from the kissing room and also amongst the spectators in the stands, with well-known faces such as Kira Miró and the writer Espido Freire, who could be found cooling themselves throughout the show with our fans.
