Fashion: “Use, mode or habit that is in vogue during a certain time, or in a specific country; in particular clothing, fabrics and decorations and principally the most recently introduced”. This is the definition of fashion provided by the Spanish Royal Academy Dictionary.

Reading this definition this morning, in relation to a round table discussion that will soon take place in Madrid, I found it contradictory that there could be such a concrete definition of such a personal and abstract concept as fashion, especially when you have a very personal and distinct understanding of it.

Personally, I conceive of fashion as a way of communicating with the outside world. I consider a good fashion collection one that continues transmitting beauty over time and holds an indescribable magical essence that seduces you for life.

I’d like to invite everyone to reflect on the importance of fashion in our daily lives and how we think of it and use it.

With respect to this season’s collections, my vision for this summer is inspired by Tchaikovsky’s “Eugenio Oneguin”. It’s a theatrical and baroque collection, where I pay personal homage to the sophisticated and passionate world of opera. The collection employs fabrics such as organza, silk and cotton, in colors such as orange, petrol blue and white.
